The building, originally a single-family home, is located in the historic core of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and follows the typology of mid-19th century traditional Canarian architecture. Its simple neoclassical façade remains one of its most characteristic features. Over the years, however, the structure has undergone major interventions that altered its original character, including the replacement of load-bearing masonry walls with metal frames and the addition of a reinforced concrete floor slab.

Due to the building’s deteriorated condition, a full rehabilitation has been proposed to preserve its current use as the headquarters of Los Diablos Locos, a well-known musical group in the Tenerife Carnival. The design aims to reinterpret the traditional Canarian house with a rear patio, creating an open and flexible interior space suitable for the group’s activities, while preserving the building’s environmental and architectural values.

The project involves restoring the original façade, including sash windows with glass panes and wooden muntins, and using materials similar to those of the period, such as lime mortars, timber carpentry, and polished or washed concrete floors. These choices seek to evoke the textures and finishes of traditional Canarian architecture while meeting contemporary functional needs.
